The Amazonas Mei Tai Asian baby carrier is a combination of a traditional wrap and a modern carrying system. Made of soft cotton fabric, it is breathable and has no frame or buckles. The shape is adapted to the natural posture of a newborn. The baby sits like a little frog in a squat position, which is very important for hip joint development. The spine is still rounded, just as it was in the mother's womb, and can now only be stretched slowly. The spine is not fully developed until the toddler can stand on their own. The back of the Mei Tai carrier is ergonomically shaped to adapt to this curvature of the back.
